Yogyakarta, August 17, 2024 – The Faculty of Economics at Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa (UST) held a benchmarking session with the Faculty of Business and Economics at Universiti Malaya. This event aimed to learn about the processes and strategies implemented by Universiti Malaya in achieving the prestigious AACSB international accreditation, which is a key indicator of the quality of education, research, and community service. The event was organized by the Faculty of Economics UST with support from the Quality Assurance Center and the Office of International Cooperation (BKUI) UST. It was attended by UST leadership, including Vice Rector I Dr. Yuli Prihatni, Vice Rector II Dr. Kusuma Chandra Kirana, and Vice Rector IV Dr. Silvester Goridos Syukur, along with deans, vice deans, program heads and secretaries, Deputy LPM, SPMF, and Quality Assurance Teams.
In his remarks, Dr. Suyanto, Dean of the Faculty of Economics UST, expressed appreciation to Prof. Dr. Yusniza Binti Kamarulzaman, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics at Universiti Malaya, for sharing valuable insights into the journey toward AACSB accreditation. Prof. Dr. Yusniza highlighted that achieving this accreditation requires a high level of commitment, accurate data management, and consistency in maintaining the established quality standards.
A key session during the event was the Q&A, where Ms. Nonik Kusuma Ningrum, S.E., M.Sc., Head of the Management Program at UST, asked about the most critical initial steps in preparing for AACSB accreditation. Prof. Dr. Yusniza explained that universities should start by thoroughly understanding AACSB standards, forming a strong accreditation team, and ensuring that the curriculum, research activities, and community service are aligned with international standards.
This virtual event not only provided valuable insights for UST but also strengthened the collaborative relationship between UST and Universiti Malaya.
